What is Fentanyl?
Fentanyl is a potent synthetic opioid drug approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use as an analgesic (pain relief) and an anesthetic. It is approximately 100 times more potent than morphine and 50 times more potent than heroin as an analgesic.

Fentanyl Poisoning
Fentanyl poisoning occurs when a person intends to take prescription drugs, such as Oxycontin, Percocet, Xanax, or other drugs, but is sold as fentanyl under the guise of the requested drug. This poisoning results in serious adverse health effects and even death.
